Mrs. Felecia’s Playhouse Preschool Uniform Policy
The purpose of Mrs. Felecia’s Playhouse Preschool uniform policy is to promote school unity and pride and minimize the distractions and disruptions that some clothing may attract while establishing habits of neatness, good grooming, and cleanliness. All preschoolers are expected to wear the school uniform and the uniform should be neat and clean.
The importance of wearing the uniform at Mrs. Felecia’s Playhouse Preschool fostering a sense of unity, identity, and discipline among the preschoolers. By requiring the preschoolers to wear the uniform we are accomplishing the following goals:
Promoting Equality
Uniforms help minimize social and economic differences, ensuring that all children feel included. This fosters a positive and inclusive environment.
Reducing Morning Stress
Uniforms simplify morning routines for parents and children, eliminating the daily decision of what to wear.
Instilling Discipline and Routine
For young children, wearing a uniform reinforces the concept of structure and routine, which is crucial for their development.
Distinctive Uniform helps with safety.
Uniforms aid in the identification of students during outings or in busy environments, ensuring their safety.
Encouraging a Sense of Belonging
Wearing a uniform helps children feel like part of a team, creating a shared identity that builds school spirit.
Uniform Days
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Uniform (unless notified)
• Wednesday Free choice casual wear (elastic waist required if preschooler cannot snap or unzip pants)
• Friday is School spirit day – School t-shirt/sweatshirt day (elastic waist required if preschooler cannot snap or unzip pants)
Shirts
*T-shirts or polo shirts with school logo. Starting in November they can wear a solid black long sleeve shirt under a uniform shirt. Uniform shirts purchased from Mrs. Felecia’s Playhouse Preschool.
Pants
*Blue, black, gray joggers/sweatpants or Khaki pants (August and September they can wear Khaki shorts) (Elastic waist required if preschooler cannot snap or unzip pants) No leggings by themselves but can wear under uniform.
Shoes
*Gym friendly VELCRO or full slip-on shoes/sneakers or close toe sandals are the
acceptable footwear.
*Crocs, flip flops, shoes with shoestrings are not acceptable.
*Crocs style shoe for inside only
*Winter boots during wintertime
*Rain boots to stay at preschool
